We’re excited to introduce our a-beauty muse series, where we celebrate our favourite Australian beauties by sharing our edit of their best beauty looks and the a-beauty products you need to get their looks.

In celebration of NAIDOC week, for our very first installment of a-beauty muse we’re sharing our favourite looks from Charlee Fraser, an indigenous top model and activist who uses her platform to advocate for First Nations peoples.

Since beginning her modelling career in 2013, Charlee Fraser has made a name for herself in the fashion industry - covering Vogue and walking for high-end fashion brands such as Chanel, Prada, Tom Ford and Balenciaga. She’s even been named a Top 50 Model by models.com.

But Charlee is so much more than a natural beauty. A proud Awabakal woman, she also mentors indigenous youth through the First Nations Fashion Design mentoring program - an organisation supporting young indigenous fashion designers. Charlee is also an advocate for sustainable fashion and founded the campaign #NotJustTrending to highlight the importance of sustainable fashion and inspire brand to opt for more eco-friendly practices.

NAIDOC week is a time to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

It’s not hard to see why she’s our muse for all things beauty, fashion, sustainability and diversity.

From her signature short fringe and natural soft curls to her beautiful round eyes and chiselled cheekbones, these are some of our top picks for Charlee Fraser’s best beauty looks.

#1 ‘No Makeup’ Makeup

Flawless radiant skin, nude semi-glossy lips and a touch of tightlining along the upper lash line is a winning combination, no matter who you are. The secret is to look after your skin so those ‘no makeup’ makeup days really do require minimal product. Australian makeup artist Isabelle Schimid is the talent behind this beautiful makeup look, and used only natural, organic and sustainable skincare and makeup - including homegrown Vanessa Megan skincare and Biode Tinted Lip Balm (on cheek and lips).

#2 Modern Glam

Sydney makeup artist Lisa Fulginiti created this look using a kit of prestige international makeup products, including Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation, Tom Ford Shade and Illuminate, Laura Mercier Translucent Powder, and a Chanel lipstick. What makes this look so modern and fresh is her deliciously dewy skin and shiny red lip instead of classic matte finishes.

#3 Neutral Days

Almost makeup-free but with a few splashes of neutral colours to highlight her gorgeous features, we love the subtle difference a little matte brown eyeshadow and peachy blush makes to accentuate Charlee’s natural beauty. Combined with tousled waves and brushed-up brows, consider this your ultimate off-duty inspo for looking effortlessly ‘done’.

#4 Gorgeously Glossy

It pays to play with textures! Offset flawless matte skin with ultra glossy eyes à la Charlee. To replicate her wet-look lashes, start with a generous double coat of black mascara (don't be afraid of a few clumps - it adds to the drama) then go over the top with a clear mascara to give the lashes an ultra shiny finish. Mix a highlighting powder with a little lip balm to brighten around the eyes and to give the lids a glossy sheen. Keep the rest of your makeup pared back to let your eyes be the stars of the show.

#5 Off-Duty Elegance

A matte foundation has a way of delivering a sophisticated coverage. But if you are worried about looking flat, take your cues from Charlee's makeup artist Lisa Fulginiti and spritz a hydrating mist over the top to soften the features. Lisa used Glow Recipe Watermelon Hydrating Mist, but we love Sodashi Rejuvenating Face Mist. Add a crisp winged eyeliner for an elegant power punch and a nude lipstick to balance the eyes without taking away from them. This versatile look can be worn to work, on weekends, down a red carpet or on a fun night out.

#6 Carefree Colour

Proving it doesn’t take much to look glam and ready to go, we adore this coral eye colour against Charlee’s dark features. Forget the eyeshadow powder and try a pigmented cream colour instead for the easiest eye look in seconds. Keep your hair soft and undone to balance out the look.
