Beauty trends come and go every season: sometimes there are a few you’ll fancy giving a try, and others that just aren’t your style. This season, these are the only three beauty trends worth knowing about.

They’re quintessential Australian, so easy to achieve, and so chic you’ll actually want to jump on board the bandwagon. But don’t just take our word for it. We asked three of our trusted Australian beauty brands to spill their trend predictions and share their expert tips on how to get the look.

Bold Blush

The trend

“Whether you’re a strawberry girl, a tomato girl or just a fan of a monochromatic look - summer has arrived in the Southern Hemisphere and it’s our turn to embrace healthy, glowy, blush driven looks,” notes Emily Perrett, Flavedo & Albedo Founder.

Why you’ll be obsessed

“Glowy skin and flushed cheeks suit everyone. Adjust the blush placement for your face shape. This look is light and perfect for warmer weather,” says Perrett.

The how-to

“Using the same hue across your cheeks, bridge of the nose, lips and even eyelids makes things feel really cohesive and polished,” advises Perrett.

What you need

“A cream blush like Dew Tint is the hero of this look - don’t be afraid of bright pink, peachy and even reddish tones. Cream blush can be mixed with a cream highlighter (try High Glow) to really make high points shine. We love this look over bare skin - that way the faux freckles are optional,” explains Perrett.

Dirty Undone

The trend

“This trend is that fine line between wet hair and dirty hair with some super cool undone texture and a couple of random braids. Think Lisa Bonet vibes,” says Jordan Robertson, Davroe’s Brand Ambassador.

Why you’ll be obsessed

Robertson says this summer hair vibe works on everyone. "I love a trend that suits anyone: it’s super easy to customise this for any hair type and length.”

The how-to

“Making sure all the hair gets some attention is key; I know it looks like it’s super natural in some areas but it still gets a once over with a tong or it gets a mini braid in the back. Also working randomly is best - nothing should look too set or done,” recommends Robertson.

What you need

Davroe Murray River Salt Spray is your hero product here, notes Robertson. "A huge tip is to layer the product: too much of this product is what makes it look cool and grungy! I also finish with a little bit of Texture Spray at the root only and then Argan Oil on the ends to add that extra little wetness.”

Summer-proof skin

The trend

“In 2023 we saw Skin Tints replace typical foundations, but we are seeing the trend of a bit more coverage coming back in 2024. People are looking for a foundation that not only evens out their skin tone, but offers long-wear coverage whilst remaining lightweight and skin-like,” says Eye of Horus' makeup artist Cait Provan.

Why you’ll be obsessed

“This trend is suitable for anyone who is looking to create a natural, smooth, and even base, without obviously wearing a full face of makeup," says Provan.

The how-to

“Opt for a higher coverage foundation like a liquid or stick formula that contains natural and nourishing skin-benefitting ingredients,” Provan recommends.

What you need

“Clean, lush, and lightweight, the Ritual Skin Foundation Stick offers superior coverage, sun protection (SPF30+) and a radiant finish for an enhanced natural complexion,” advises Provan.
