There are a lot of negative ways your beauty routine could be impacting the environment. But these days there are also plenty of really great beauty products available that are determined to change that - be it by going packaging-free, sustainably sourcing its ingredients, etc - that it’s easier than ever to do your part to look good and look after our planet.

Call it a coincidence (given Earth Day is coming up on April 22) or simply a sign of the new times, the a-beauty scene has welcomed a handful of eco-friendly beauty products this month that are good for you and the earth.

These are just some of the commendable new Australian beauty products that launched in April that are doing their part to minimise their impact on the environment.

Best vegan concealer

OUR PICK: Eye of Horus Triple C Concealer

Everyone needs a good concealer in their makeup arsenal. When that said good concealer is also vegan, cruelty-free, ethically sourced and has a 99.6% natural formula, then suddenly you have yourself a great concealer. That’s what this newbie from Eye of Horus is. It ticks all the aforementioned boxes, plus it’s infused with three natural forms of potent vitamin C to protect, smooth and visibly brighten the skin under your eyes over time. It’s a triple threat concealer that conceals, treats and is eco-friendly and we are big fans.

Best for an eco glow

OUR PICK: Kora Organics Turmeric Glow Moisturizer

The beauty industry is responsible for creating way too much plastic wastage. Eco-warrior Miranda Kerr is trying to do her part with her latest Kora Organics product, which comes with a refillable pod. She hasn’t compromised on delivering a luxurious looking product in the process, and the actual Turmeric Glow Moisturizer formula is amazing, too. The clean, certified organic nourishing mask is enriched with brightening turmeric and an oil blend of desert date, rosehip and maracuja that leaves skin radiant and deeply hydrated. It’s just what your skin needs coming into winter.

Best autumn fragrance

OUR PICK: Goldfield & Banks Silky Woods

This new fragrance is proof that eco-friendly beauty products don’t need to compromise on the luxe factor. Infused with a drop of precious Australian agarwood that has been sustainably harvested in the Daintree Rainforest in Tropical North Queensland, Goldfield & Banks new Silky Woods fragrance is a sensual woody scent with a modern oriental sillage of suede, exotic vanilla and smoky tobacco leaves balanced with the earthy essences of saffron, incense, ylang ylang and native sandalwood.

Best zero waste hair product

OUR PICK: Eleven Australia Gentle Cleanse Shampoo Bar

Solid, eco-packaged bars are the way of the future so get on board. This shampoo bar comes in biodegradable packaging for 100% zero waste. It also works a treat to clean and nourish your hair and scalp. Bonus: The bar lasts ages and takes up little real estate in your shower.

Best feel-good buy
